319. Improving Content-Area Literacy Schoolwide: The Principal’s Role

Middle school and high school principals know that literacy skills are key to content area success. The question is how to effectively support ongoing literacy development. Participants will learn how to use the Adolescent Literacy Support Framework and other free online and off-line tools to determine areas that need additional focus, provide support for teachers, design a successful schoolwide initiative, and select professional development that fits their schools’ needs.
